Automatic VJ software

Visuals that hear the music.

VisualDJ listens to your mixer, locks onto the kick and plays a full night of visuals, with your DJs' photos, videos and texts mixed in. You set up the night. It runs the show.

Features

Set it up once. Play all night.

No VJ needed behind the laptop. VisualDJ does the watching, the listening and the switching.

Hears the beat

Plug in your mixer over USB. VisualDJ finds every kick, locks onto the tempo within seconds and cuts the visuals on the beat. Got a Pioneer DJM? It can read the mixer's own BPM too.

Runs the whole night

Put your DJs on a timeline with their set times. The visuals follow the clock: each DJ gets their own look, their own media, and a clean handover to the next. Running late? Hit Extend.

Your media, mixed in

Drop in photos, videos, logos and texts per DJ or for the whole event. VisualDJ weaves them through the animations, with forty ways to bring text on screen, always on the one.

How it works

Three steps to a full night.

01

Plug in

Connect your mixer over USB and pick the input. VisualDJ shares it with your stream or recording and never touches the mixer's settings.

02

Plan the night

Add your DJs, drag their set times on the timeline and drop in their photos, videos and texts. Save the whole night as one show file.

03

Press Play

Send the visuals to the projector and walk away. VisualDJ follows the clock and the beat. Need to step in? Use the remote on your phone.

About me

Made by someone who stands next to the booth.

I have been making music for forty years. I started in hardcore – loud, fast, and built out of whatever gear I could get my hands on. These days I make techno.

VisualDJ started inside BALAI, the music workstation I build. Its visuals were made to move with the music, and I wanted that on the big screen at a club night – without someone stuck behind a laptop all night.

So I took the visuals out and built a VJ that runs by itself. It listens to the mixer, knows which DJ is on and keeps the room alive from doors open to lights on.
